The Callahan Cousins!

Sunday June 26th: Hiking along the Coastline
On our second day off we headed up the coastline of Oregon to Cape Perpetua to go on a hike. We did a nice 6 mile loop and ended with a nice stretch along the coastline. That night, after our hike, we headed to the beach to frolic on the sand dunes and have some dinner. It was a great and exhausting day! Back to work on Monday!

Feel Good Farmers

June 19-25: Feel Good Farm Dexter, Oregon
I left Washington on Saturday and picked Julia up in Portland on Saturday night and Hannah up on Sunday in Eugene and we headed south to Dexter, OR to spend two weeks WWOOFing (World Wide Opprotunities on Organic Farms) on Feel Good Farm. We really feel good on Feel Good Farm. We have been weeding, planting, and eating great food. Jen and everyone has given us a wonderfully warm welcome.

June 24th: Lost Creek Jubilee
A neighbor down the road holds a huge four- day party every summer. We stopped by on Friday to listen to some music.

June 25th: We had the weekend off so we drove up to Portland on Saturday. We explore the shops in the Pearls District, ate an awesome lunch at Persad (a vegan/raw restaurant), and did lots of thrift store shopping in the Northwest District. It was a gorgeous clear day and we could see all three mountain (Rainier, Adams, and St. Helens) as we drove home.

Green Smoothie-Loving Hippies

I arrived in Portland on the night of the 8th. I stayed at a hostel in a great section of town that has quiet streets lined with cafes, boutiques and tea shops. I explored the city on Thursday and then headed up to Snohomish, Washington to stay with my friend Alex from college. I've spent the last week here and have had a fantastic time.  We been filling our days trail running, with adventures to the surrounding cities and islands, visits to the farmer's markets and local food co-ops, and making delicious nutritious food (green smoothies are our favorite-yum!).

My Farmer's Market Dinner: Fresh strawberries and peas
w/ green juice. Yum!

June 10th: Trail running at Lizard and Lily Lake, Bellingham farmer's market, and exploring Fair Haven
